Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology deals with creation in of very small structures and atoms. This involves the larger viewpoint of Designing, Modelling and Reproduction & Visualization of Nano products using Nano-IT software tools as per the industry standards. This course features in-depth lecture subjects, seminars by leading practitioners, and a wide range of practical learning opportunities.

The course has a strong research focus, with high-achieving students working in the state-of-the-art research laboratories equipped with world-class fabrication and analytical technology.

Semester 1 and 2 (February and July)

English Language Requirement

•    IELTS (Academic) - minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or
•    TOEFL Computer-Based Test - A minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or
•    TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or more in the test of Written English; or
•    TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or Completion of the English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at PG (postgraduate) level available from La Trobe Melbourne; or Approved equivalent.  

Entry Requirement

•    An Australian Bachelor's degree, or approved international equivalent, containing a major in physics and at least two years of chemistry.
•    Applicants should have obtained a minimum average of 65 per cent in the third year of their Bachelor's degree, or have reached an equivalent standard as assessed by the nanotechnology course coordinator.
