A program that focuses on the design of technological information systems, including computing systems, as solutions to business and research data and communications support needs.
It includes instruction in the principles of computer hardware and software components, algorithms, databases, telecommunications, user tactics, application testing, and human interface design.
Students can complete the degree entirely by coursework, or incorporate an industrial software engineering team project and an elective minor research thesis. Students with prior knowledge of programming and data structures may move more rapidly to advanced topics.

IELTS: Overall band score of 6.0, with no individual sub-score below 5.5.
TOEFL: Score of 550, including the Test of Written English (TWE) or a score of 213 in the computer based test, and essay rating.
Successful completion of a three-year undergraduate degree with a major in computing or information technology, or an overseas equivalent.
Applicants who have completed the University of Ballarat’ s Graduate Certificate in Information Technology Management of overseas equivalent are also eligible for entry into this program.

IELTS (Academic) - minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no individual band score less than 6.0; or
TOEFL Computer-Based Test - A minimum score of 233 with a score of 5 in essay writing; or
TOEFL Paper-based Test - A minimum score of 575 with a score of 5 or more in the test of Written English; or
TOEFL Internet-based Test - A minimum score of 88 with no individual score less than 22; or Completion of the English for Further Studies Advanced Stage 5B certificate at PG (postgraduate) level available from La Trobe Melbourne; or Approved equivalent.
An Australian Bachelor's degree, or approved international equivalent, in any discipline.

TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA; or Successful completion of a tertiary qualification.
Applicants would normally have completed a bachelor degree in a non-computing discipline or equivalent qualification.
Applicants who have completed the Graduate Diploma or the Graduate Certificate in Information Technology with a Grade Point Average of 5 or higher will also be eligible for entry.
