About Algoma University

Algoma University

Algoma University was founded in 1965, and is the smallest undergraduate-only university in Ontario. Set up with a special mission; that of providing cross-cultural learning between Indigenous communities and other communities in Northern Ontario, the college today offers academic programs that span the humanities, social sciences and sciences. Students at Algoma can pick from programs in rapidly evolving disciplines that include Accounting, Human Resources, Marketing and Economics, Biology, Health Sciences, Psychology, Environmental Science, Computer Science and IT. They can reap the benefits of small size classes ensuring personal growth, one-to-one guidance and support from faculty mentors and experiential learning opportunities. What’s more, as this is a fully undergraduate college, they can get opportunities to work with faculty on cutting-edge research; something that’s only possible in postgrad programs at other Universities.
